dumm-dumm-dumm

Two weddings.

One was a cousin's and the other, a 60th wedding (actually the 60th birthday) of an aunt and uncle. Both were filled with tambrahm mamas who chanted endlessly...I suspect some of them were just lip synching...saying the 'swaaha' bits whenever they came.

I had the camera man at the first wedding taping me drawing. Needless to say the subjects of my stalking were constantly running off in the wedding madness.

hehe...er...yes...in the non-busy parts- early morning time when the crowds were less, when I was er...off-duty.

they should write about you in the newspapers! I can picture the headlines.. "Anonymous youth caught drawing suspicious pictures at wedding- security increased at wedding halls!"

@shoe:
I've already been caught on tape. WHY would I be anonymous at my own cousin's wedding?

I'll deal with you later :P

NICE NICE....put some more ink n black all round...they r too clean :)some silhouettes may work better .

Shreyas said...

@bondhu: That was fast :)

Ya, they ARE clean. IF I wasn't in a silk sari, I would have been sitting with a fat brush and a bottle of quink! I was trying out a thin brush pen that I bought from Roopkala for the first time. I think it flowed better with a gel pen for me.

Also, I was doing quick drawings trying to ignore family and extended family members who were seeing me draw for the first time and wanted their portraits drawn.

:D You drew in the Kalyanam? Didn't any of those mama-mamis go "Abhishtu Abhishtu" over you? :D

Way to go Super-Tam!

@sandhya:
HAHAHA, no man. They all went "Ennayum varayen please". :-/

So did you eventually become the Indian equivalent of those French painters who paint portraits in cafés?

Shreyas said...

@kadalai:
hahaha, in a podavai though. I didn't do portraits anyways, just quick sketches...before getting surrounded by families and extended families and soon-to-be family families.

Ah, all I need now is a beret and a pencil mustache. Then I can go around being snooty and saying "Oh mon Dieu!".

You said you have a relative studying at NID? who is it, I'm wondering if it's a batchmate of mine.
